The official website for the television anime of Keiichi Sigsawa’s Sword Art Online: Alternative Gun Gale Online novel series posted a promotional video on Saturday. (Note: The linked video is region-locked to Japan.) The video previews Eir Aoi’s opening theme song “Ryūsei” (Falling Star).
The anime will premiere on April 7 on Tokyo MX, BS11, Tochigi TV, and Gunma TV, before airing on MBS, TV Aichi, and CS NTV Plus. The series will also stream on AbemaTV.
Tomori Kusunoki stars as Llenn, and Yōko Hikasa also stars in the series as Pitohui. Kazuyuki Okitsu will play M, and Chinatsu Akasaki will play Fukaziroh.
Masayuki Sakoi (Celestial Method, Princess Resurrection, Strawberry Panic!) is directing the anime at Studio 3Hz (Flip Flappers, Princess Principal). Yousuke Kuroda (My Hero Academia, Gundam Build Fighters, Mobile Suit Gundam 00) is in charge of series composition and the script. Yoshio Kosakai (Chaos;HEAd, Needless) is chief animation director, and he is also designing the characters based on Kouhaku Kuroboshi’s original designs. Tomori Kusunoki is performing the ending theme song “To see the future”
The story follows Karen Kohiruimaki, a 183-centimeter-tall (6-foot-tall) college student who’s insecure her height, and is bad at dealing with people in the real world. She enters the world of Gun Gale Online with her avatar, Llenn, who is less than 150 centimeters (5 feet) tall and wears all pink. She meets a beautiful, brown-skinned female player who goes by Pitohui. They hit it off, but one day Pitohui pressures her to participate in “Squad Jam,” a team Battle Royale variation of the Bullet of Bullets tournament.
Bandai Namco Entertainment began streaming a trailer on Saturday featuring upcoming downloadable contents for its Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC game. The trailer highlights the first DLC batch and upcoming characters on the second and third batch.
he first DLC batch, “Jūka no Hasha,” features the following additions:
New playable characters Yamikaze, Dyne, and Musketeer X
Deathmatch Battle for online versus mode
Battle of Bullets mode: Fighting characters at random (offline play only)
New story and quests
High-level difficulty dungeons and enemies
New characters, costumes, and hairstyles
The second DLC batch features characters Shirley, Clarence from Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online. The third DLC batch features characters Alice, Eugeo from Sword Art Online: Alicization.
Each DLC batch can be purchased for 1,200 yen plus tax, but players can obtain all three DLC batches by purchasing a DLC Season Pass. The DLCs will be available for download in Spring 2018.
The game will also add other characters from Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online: Llenn, Pitohui, M, and Fukaziroh will be available in Hero Battle Mode. The Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online anime will premiere in April.
Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet launched in Japan on February 8 and in the West on February 23.
The game developed by Dimps is a third-person shooter role-playing game based in the fictional Gun Gale Online virtual-reality massively multiple online role-playing game. The fictional game is featured in the Sword Art Online II television anime series, and Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet is the franchise’s first game based in Gun Gale Online. Original light novel creator Reki Kawahara supervised the game’s original story. Players’ choices and interaction determine the course of the story. Players can create skills and abilities and utilize new weapons.
