BRATS is the Japanese girls band formed by sisters Rei Kuromiya and Aya Kuromiya. Their music expresses the bold, loud sound of today’s Japanese youth!
Rei Kuromiya (vocals)
Aya Kuromiya (bass)
BRATS began in August 2011 when Rei Kuromiya, who had been modeling as an idol since she was 8 years old, became a vocalist at the age of 10. Rei’s sister Aya Kuromiya plays the bass, and Aya’s friend Hinako plays the guitar.
Rei was chosen as “Miss iD 2015″ at Kodansha’s annual idol contest in September, 2014, and BRATS released the song “14-sai byou” (“14-year old disease”) in 2015. Their song “Ainikoiyo” (“Come see me”) was released in 2016 as the opening theme for the anime series «To Be Hero», and the follow-up single “Nounai Shoukyo Game” was chosen for the feature film action comedy «Slavemen» directed by Noboru Iguchi.
In 2017, BRATS returned to the stage for their March 29 «Reborn» concert at Ikebukuro Live Inn Rosa, the band’s first live event in over 2 years. BRATS released their double-single “Ainikoiyo”/“Nounai Shoukyo Game” worldwide on June 21, 2017.

Welcome to the BEST Anime Awards show of them all, where I present to you the definitive top anime of 2017! Don’t believe me? Neither do I. With over 50 awards across more than 45 nominated works, it’s certainly the biggest! As long as a show aired in 2017 and I saw at least some of it, it’s eligible—sequels included. Chances are, you won’t agree with a lot of what you see here. So, kick back, lighten up, and reminisce on the year that was in anime. Enjoy!
