  1. Guys! I'mma start this here because he showed pictures of the books. Since all additions to Greek mythology for the most part are novels and such, like the Iliad. So, since most additions are stories, do the Percy Jackson series count as a modern day contribution to the actual Greek mythology.

  2. >>…do you ever explain to your friends the intricacies of high-rise living or how the internal combustion engine changed the world in casual conversation?

I do… I do stuff like that quite often. I'm not a real person, I guess. orz

  3. I agree with all your points, Geoff, except that one just… doesn't align, with reality as I know it. I'm explaining random bits of things here and there (such as your example of the internal combustion engine) all the time. I'm subscribed to the Today I Found Out channel on YouTube, which exists to explain things like the history behind a baker's dozen. Someday, I'll probably explain to my nephew why a bicycle can stay up on just two wheels. Expository dialog can be terrible in fiction and is narratively lazy, but that doesn't mean it's not a common thing in the real world.

  4. Overlord is my guilty pleasure anime, I just love it so much because they have MC that to OP without any suddenly increased power in the middle of a battle, he just OP, because he is and seeing people in awe of his power, is so entertaining for me.

  5. Darling in the franxx had a lot of world building problems in the the 1st ep imo. I mean seriously how the heck have they survived this long!? The kids just graduated in the first episode and they bearly know how to fight as is. When the monsters attacked literally nobody was prepared to fight/sent anyone other than Zero Two who just arrived that same day not to mention she would have lost the fight if Hiro didn't have protagonist powers. Literally the defense of the plantation is 4 robots piloted by kids who just graduated and obviously very little actually combat experience. Also the guns on the plantation literally kills nothing nor slowed down the monsters either. If attacks like this happen often how do they survived b4 ep 1? The last bunch of kids obviously been gone for quite a while considering the beach episode so what kind of defenses did they have between the old team and the team they have now? They lived in the same house but know nothing of each other so it's clear a long time between then and now has passed. Also geothermal power for the mobile plantation knowing the monsters are attracted to geothermal energy and fighting back with mechs that uses geothermal powered weapons? Complaints aside I do love the animation.

  6. God, that Percy Jackson cameo came out of nowhere, but I love it.

But thank you for the informative video. I currently have a project that needs a little world building, and this helped immensely!

  7. Oh dear god I had this discussion recently. I was making a comparison to overlord and rwby and how one is an example of good story telling and while another is a trash fire who's suspension of disbelief is just bewildering stupidity.

But nop apparently overlord is a shit story while rwby can do no wrong.

  8. You've been wrong about so much already I'm not even gonna finish this video. Both of these shows are terrible examples of world building, Overlord especially ever since season 2 began. Dislike.

  9. I have a small theory, I think that SAO is somewhat connected to the game in Overlord, Yggdrasil, because in SAO when kirito gets that seed thing, a lot of new MMOs are made and in SAO his friend says briefly at one point that they’re gonna meet in a game called Yggdrasil so I think that the game in Overlord was created by Kiritos seed thing
