  1. Small Evangelion spoiler ahead.

Evangelion shouldn’t be on this list. All the evangelion units are organic and giant creatures, therefor not mecha. They even have a bloody gender.

  2. Of course the Gundam series would be number one. You can't think about Japanese mecha without thinking about Gundam. Gundam has become synonymous with the "mecha" terms altogether.

  3. Gundam Wing Mobile Suit.
Relena, Heero, Duo, Quatre, Trowa and Wufei.
One of the best series out of the lot.
    Gundam Seed was a joke.
I got into the series before cartoon network got there bloody hands on it and edited the crap out of it for the american market.
None of the Gundam franchise was meant for kids so they mutilated it and fiddled with the translation, but a lot of people have forgotten this and bag certain series within the franchise (Wing in particular) because it got chopped up and blasted on shit like toonami.
But then, this just proves why americans can't have nice things.

  4. Glad to see GaoGaiGar is finally getting some love. Even though the Dub only has 25 episodes out of the 49 and the FINAL ova series, it is still a great dub. It is also why this anime is my third favorite anime of all time.

  5. Goldorak not even here, i mean its the first mecha anime, the one all others copied (the one who made Goldorak did also devilman and is basically the father of disturbing gore in anime, mecha anime and ecchi)
