  2. Loved Kirran slamming Wotakoi for the unrealistic gaming behavior. That was great to see. I also agree that some more comedy or fluff would do Legend of the Galactic Heroes some good; I'm still enjoying it, but it can be dry. Megalobox meanwhile just keeps being incredibly and I couldn't be happier with it.
As for Comic Girls, I won't miss it. I will say I had expected Gun Gale Online to die for having a recap episode, but I'm fine with it not even counting instead.

  3. I love this show but don't always have time for Youtube. Have you guys considered an audio version so folks could listen while driving? This show's independent enough from the video that it could as a podcast.

  4. My favorite part of the last Megalo Box episode was just the way Aragaki and his couch talk and look at each other before his forfeits, like you can tell that they both just realized that what needed to be accomplished in the fight was accomplished as well as it ever will, so it's time to go go. That part of development was perfect.

Also glad I was wrong about Golden Kamui probably not gonna be good, because last few eps where better then the first few

  5. I get it's a recap ep on GGO but by your own rules if you miss an episode you technically give it a knife by the precedent set last season tiny life in the woods.
Yes I know its your show but i felt like nitpicking. :p

  6. Smash Summit 6 — Melee just happened: Mew2King won… EVO 2018 I am hyped for (also Melee is the most popular competitive smash game, second being Sm4sh)

  7. the only reason I knew nanbu was going to stay is that he looks exactly like Yabuki Joe's Trainer ( Yabuki Joe being Ashita no Joe's MC you know the anime this a soul successor to)

  8. I swear kirean loves any shows that are literal trash but then any show that's actually good. But he doesn't like 1 aspect of the show he rips into it Like no tomorrow. He thought kings game was good so I just ignore all his comments. When he actually has one

  9. 1. Nitta's Dad.

It wasn't even specifically a memorial. He just came to visit to explain Hina's situation and since it had been awhile since the last time he was there, he did the usual offering and prayers to his deceased father. Nitta's dad died back when he was still pretty young, about 8-10. And he's VERY reluctant to come visit his mom and sister beyond the bare minimum for Japanese filial piety.

And he never really had a father figure in his life until he graduated college and started working for a finacial company that was eventually absorbed by the Ashikawa Clan and he decided to just join the family, since that's the only way he'd be able to continue advancing, and Oyabun (the old man), acted as the father figure he had been sorely lacking and he holds a lot of respect for him. (Old Boss was a monster in his youth from what little we hear about it, but he's mellowed out A LOT in his old age and around the time Nitta met him, at this point is just a doting grandfather who spoils his "grand-daughter" absolutely rotten).

    2. Yakuza can be shown but it has to either A. The accepted classic Yakuza sterotype from the 60-70's. B. Completely over-the-top fantasical bullshit that is Yakuza in name only.

Hinamatsuri, like all difficult topics it handles, does so in a pretty fair and balanced way and shows Yakuza as people. Criminals but also still people, who have good and bad sides that vary from person to person. But you can't show Yakuza in any way that might be considered condoning what they do.

The show has actually taken a lot of extreme measures to distance Nitta from the Yakuza, removing his shoulder tattoos as well as downplaying what he does in the yakuza.

Specifically he's a finacial manager/advisor and book-keeper for their legit businesses as well as handling their Loan-sharking operations. And he's damn good at it, and was even promoted to Junior Under-boss status (roughly on the same tier as the Underboss though the 3rd in line of authority on the 2nd teir under the Boss) shortly after Hina arrived, when he went to visit the boss in the hospital after he got shot.

Nitta is a pretty sympathetic character (especially once you learn the full scope of his backstory, that unfortunately I don't think the anime will cover, so you'll have to pick up the manga. But let's just say, he empathizes A LOT with Hitomi).

But that could be seen as condoning Yakuza behavior, so the only times they'll show Yakuza stuff is if he's being forced into it, or it's so completely over the top, it's clearly fantasy. Or has nothing to do with Yakuza business.

It makes me a bit worried about how they'll handle Naitou "the Executioner"'s introduction.

  10. Comic Girls: It's taking every once of my strength not to take the comments about Kaos personall because she's the primary reason I'm watching this show. I relate heavily to a lot of her creative and social hangups. So I hope you can understand how some one repeatedly saying "This character that you see a lot of yourself in is THE WORST" can kind of cut pretty deep.

I didn't need a grounding in "Muh tropes" to enjoy this show. Make of that what you will.

Wotakoi: He plays Smash with a gamecube controller, he gave that up to Taro this episode to keep him on a leash. Also "Pro"? Making a Loooot of assumptions here. However, the shakeout of the "fake gamer" accusations was hilarious. Keep at it.

Golden Kamuy: The best part of this episode is the DEATH OF THE GOD-DAMN POOP JOKE! THANK GOD!

Ben… How can you not love Katana Grandpa? Katana Grandpa is awesome!

Megalo Box: That track is the main theme of the show, and it kicks ASS!
